Queen's EngiQueers is dedicated to cultivating a positive, inclusive, and accessible environment for queer-identified students and their allies in engineering. We aim to celebrate our community, advocate for queer students and engineers, and present opportunities for professional development with a queer lens.

EngiQueers' plans for the upcoming year include hosting regular drop-ins for students to build connections on campus as well as organizing events focused on community, education, advocacy, or professional development. We need an event-planning and logistics team to actualize our plans for the year.

As an events/logistics coordinator, you will be expected to:

  • Attend EngiQueers meetings/drop-ins
  • Help brainstorm event ideas
  • Work with your team members to execute events
    • Set-up/Teardown
    • Meeting with the team as needed during the planning phase

You will have plenty of creative freedom when planning the events as long as they build on community, education/advocacy, or professional development. We encourage you to pursue ideas that you are passionate/excited about.

There is no experience required for this position. You can expect a 2-3 hour time commitment per week. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic people who are able to work on a team. If that sounds like you, we'd love to have you on the EngiQueers team!

EXTENDED: The application deadline is Thursday, October 12 at 11:59 PM. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for October 16 - October 20. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at engiqueers@ engsoc.queensu.ca. We can't wait to get started!
