The Queen’s Biomedical Innovation Team (QBiT) is an interdisciplinary design team that designs, prototypes, and tests innovative biomedical devices to address healthcare concerns both globally and within our local community.

Position Description:

The Chief Q-CARE will lead and oversee all aspects of the Q-CARE initiative. They will be responsible for managing project operations, maintaining communication with partnering research laboratories, faculty supervisors, and the Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), and ensuring the successful execution of Q-CARE projects.

The Chief Q-CARE will supervise the Q-CARE Project Manager(s) and support them in overseeing general team members. They will coordinate internal team logistics, assess project feasibility, identify and secure necessary resources, and ensure projects are completed in a timely manner. Additionally, they will be responsible for preparing applications for relevant competitions, conferences, and funding opportunities, while maintaining clear communication regarding project expectations and progress with BCMF and the faculty team.


Responsibilities

  • Officially representing Q-CARE within QBiT and to external partners
  • Attending executive meetings and general meetings as required
  • Coordinating Q-CARE activities and project operations
  • Maintaining communication with partnering research laboratories, faculty supervisors, and BCMF
  • Coordinating the activities of Q-CARE sub-teams and committees
  • Managing official correspondence related to Q-CARE projects
  • Supporting project planning, resource acquisition, and timeline management
  • Preparing applications for competitions, conferences, and other relevant opportunities
  • Monitoring project progress and continually assessing project feasibility and impact

Ideal Qualities

  • Previous experience with Q-CARE and familiarity with the faculty supervisory team
  • Strong working relationship with BCMF and other project stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to Q-CARE and its projects
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and project-management abilities
