Ahoy! Want to sail the seven seas? Are you a business mogul? Intrigued by renewable energy, autonomous vehicles, and outdoor robotics? Get involved in aQuatonomous: a new design team at Queen’s University focused on designing and building a solar-powered autonomous surface vessel (ASV/robotic boat) for the applied purpose of carrying out ecological and water research in harsh ocean environments. The 2024-2025 year will be aQuatonomous’s first year of complete operation, with the goal of attending the RoboNation RoboBoat competition in March.
aQuatonomous is hiring a Business Team Lead for the 2024-2025 academic year. This individual will lead the business team in managing finances, landing sponsorships, and marketing our design team to the student population.
💼 We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong communication skills and time management skills.
- Can facilitate collaboration and sponsorships with external companies, labs, and student groups.
- Has an eye for a good Instagram post.
- Knows things about money! :D
🌊As the Business Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating activities, initiatives and events with your team.
- Leading marketing strategies and defining the team’s brand image via social media and our website.
- Spearheading sponsorship efforts and creating industry connections in tech, AI, and robotics.
- Managing financials in collaboration with the Co-Captains.
- Helping the engineering sub-team leads make money moves.
This application will close on May 31st, 2024. Interviews will be scheduled via Zoom from June 1st through June 8th.
